Jerry Nigro, Co-Founder, Managing Director of Wealth Management Advisory

For almost 30 years, Jerry Nigro has been dedicated to working with high net worth individuals and their families. As Founding Partner, Senior Wealth Advisor at Claybrook, he brings a holistic wealth management approach to his clients incorporating the areas of retirement planning, balance sheet and cash flow management, investment planning, tax optimization strategies, education funding, estate and philanthropy planning. He has developed an expertise in using options strategies to help produce additional income and manage risk across portfolios as well.

Before forming Claybrook Capital, Jerry was a Managing Director and Investment Advisor at Robertson Stephens Advisors. He also spent seven years at UBS, where he was a Senior Vice President and Senior Portfolio Manager. Previously, he worked at Goldman Sachs for eight years and began his career at Merrill Lynch.

Jerry holds a BS in Family Financial Management from The Ohio State University. He and his wife enjoy spending time with their children. They also “enjoy the mountains, beaches and woods of America.” Mr. Nigro plays and coaches lacrosse. He has worked with many charities, including The Mission Continues, Wounded Warrior Project and Montauk Hook and Slice.

Bruce Arella, Co-Founder, Member & Board of Advisor

Bruce provides strategic business direction, practice management optimization, advises on merger and acquisition growth strategies, and real estate activities.

Bruce has over 25 years of proven leadership, business building and merger-acquisition skills, having served as a family office president, business and fin-tech strategist, virtual family office leader, practice management operator, real estate investor, hedge fund principal and experienced board member. Bruce is the Founder and CEO of BSCA Solutions LLC,  a research, advisory and consultancy firm for single family offices (SFO), multifamily offices (MFO), entrepreneurs, financial/service technology firms, real estate related firms and operating company CEO’s. 

Bruce is a Member and Board of Advisor for TruView BSI, LLC. TruView is a Certified Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Business that performs contract background screening and investigative services to over 1,200 Clients throughout the United States. In addition Bruce is a Board Member for Franklin Madison, an industry leading insurance and product marketing company with over 50 years of experience.

Previously, Bruce was a Partner and Head of Real Estate for We Family Offices, responsible for leading the $14 billion firm’s real estate activities. Prior to We Family Offices, Bruce was the Partner and New York President of Genspring Family Offices, responsible for building and leading the $23 billion firm’s New York practice. Additional firmwide responsibilities including the President’s Council, investment related committees and innovative practice management strategies. Prior to these two roles, Bruce worked in asset management holding positions as Chief Operating Officer at Orion Capital Management, Co-Founder and Portfolio Manager at Ardent Fund Management, and Co-Head Trader at Standard and Poor’s.

Bruce has served on the Board of Directors for Unity International Group for over 15 years.  Unity was established in1974, averaged around $200mm in revenue, 500+ full time employees as one of the top electrical data construction companies. In May 2018 Unity was successfully sold to strategic buyer Engie Corporation, one of the largest global energy and services groups in the world.

Bruce holds a Bachelor of Science degree in finance and economics from LIU Post University, and he completed the Executive Education Program in Family Wealth Management at Columbia University Graduate School of Business. In his free time, Bruce enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, as well as playing golf, tennis, traveling and teaching. One of his lifelong passions has been training and teaching Martial Arts. Bruce is a Black Belt Martial Arts Instructor and International Okinawan Martial Arts Union Award recipient. 

Virginia Madden, Vice President

Virginia has been working with ultra-high net worth individuals for almost 20 years. She assists clients with administrative and operational needs ranging from financial planning and reporting to cash management. Virginia is passionate about providing outstanding personal service to all Claybrook clients. She brings a wealth of industry knowledge to Claybrook and provides for a wide range of unique circumstances tailoring each client's experience.

Prior to joining Claybrook Capital, Virginia worked as a Senior Registered Client Service Associate for UBS Private Wealth Management in Boston focusing on Client Concierge Services and Client Operations. Prior to UBS, she worked in client services in the Morgan Stanley Boston office. She began her career in the financial services industry at New England Pension Consultants.

Virginia holds a BA in Psychology from the University of Massachusetts-Boston. When not in the office, Virginia enjoys traveling with her husband and spending time in Cape Cod with the family dog Abby.
